Current-state assessment, analysis, design and comparison run in one tool on the same data. Nothing gets copied between spreadsheets, and no project starts from zero.
From raw data to a warehouse concept.
For system integrators, storage technology OEMs and 3PLs. venn maps every client project in one sequence: capture the current state, analyse order and stock data, lay out storage technology on the hall plan and compare variants with a business case. A concept that used to take weeks is ready in hours.
- Hosted in Germany
- GDPR-compliant
- End-to-end data consistency
Too many warehouse concepts are built in spreadsheets and on gut feeling.
Every warehouse concept stands for an investment that runs for years. Yet design and variant comparison mostly happen in separate files: lots of manual work, structured differently by each engineer and hard for clients to follow. venn standardises the process and makes every number auditable.
Every figure traces back to the operational data: derivation per item, a log of assumptions and a frozen state at the point of decision.
All variants use the same design basis, the same area and the same cost logic. That makes concepts comparable and repeatable, whoever on the team builds them.
Five steps on one data basis.
Each step builds on the one before. Change an assumption and every following step up to the business case recalculates.
Start with where your client stands today.
Capture the actual costs of the warehouse: staff, shifts and working hours, existing halls and equipment. Upload the hall plan as a PDF and mark the areas. Every variant in the concept is measured against this baseline.
- Actual costs: staff, facilities, equipment and extra costs
- Shift model with working and break times
- Hall plan with marked areas
- Link areas to functions: picking or replenishment
Import raw data, fix errors automatically.
Upload order, stock and item data as CSV or Excel. venn detects where the table starts, the delimiter and the columns, fixes typical format errors and stores every import as its own version.
- Automatic column mapping with a preview per field
- Auto-repair for date, number and whitespace errors
- Versions for audit and comparison, data quality index 0–100
- Upload links: clients deliver data directly, no account needed
Understand what the warehouse has to handle.
From the order overview to the ABC × XYZ matrix: venn shows order structure, seasonality, daily profile and stock behaviour. Change a boundary or filter and every analysis recalculates immediately.
- ABC, XYZ and ABC × XYZ analysis with a recommendation per cell
- Seasonality, peak factor and peak hour from the daily profile
- Forecast scenarios for orders and stock
- Design throughput: decide what the system is designed for
Lay out storage technology on the hall plan.
Lay out technologies on the marked areas, for example small parts shelving, cube storage, shuttle systems or pallet racking. With every change the planner repacks the layout, respects columns and ports and shows in 2D and 3D whether demand is covered.
- Demand from storage sizing, coverage live in the planner
- Ports, workstations, columns, platforms and stairs as objects
- MTM performance calculation per workstation
- Layout PDF and 3D view for the concept
Compare variants with a business case.
Solution selection puts every designed variant side by side: area, coverage, performance, investment, operating costs and payback against the current state. Before that, venn checks that the variants are comparable. You justify the recommendation in your concept, and the frozen state makes every number traceable.
- Comparability check: same design basis, area and price level
- CAPEX, operating costs and payback over the planning horizon
- Your own price lists per region, project currency with ECB rates
- Chosen solution with reasoning, frozen state and history
This is what planning with venn looks like.
The venn interface with sample data: an expansion project with 725,000 order lines, from import to decision.
Import & data quality
Column mapping with preview, auto-repair and versions. The quality index shows whether the data is good enough for planning.
- CSV, TSV, TXT and Excel (all visible sheets)
- Orders, inventory, article master, goods receipt
- Faulty rows as CSV for correction
Order Data Overview
KPIs, Pareto curve with ABC boundaries, lines per order, daily profile and ABC × XYZ matrix on one page.
- Chart or table at one click
- Data filters apply to every analysis
- PDF report for ABC analysis and matrix
2D planner on the hall plan
Grid, ports, charging station and columns in the client's building. Key figures and coverage update with every change.
- Rotation with 45° and 90° snapping
- Dimensions, grid and object palette
- Demand and coverage against storage sizing
3D view
The same layout in 3D: height, layers, ports and robots. For client meetings and concept documents.
- Same geometry as the 2D plan
- Available for every technology
- Hall floor plan can be shown
Solution selection
Cumulative cost, selection matrix and decision. Every number comes with unit and source; missing values are shown as “not in model” instead of zero.
- Comparability check before comparing
- Business case against the current state
- Chosen solution with reasoning and history
The whole process in 30 minutes.

Every building block of warehouse planning in one tool.
All modules work on the same data. What you define in the current state and analysis feeds the planner, and what the planner lays out feeds the comparison.
Any technology, one calculation core
In principle, any storage technology can be planned. Our technology database grows continuously, together with technology providers and through our own team. Every technology gets a 2D plan on the hall PDF, a 3D view, demand coverage and a layout PDF.
Storage sizing
Demand in load carriers per functional area and technology, split into picking and replenishment, with coverage periods and derivation per item.
Design throughput
Actual or target year, peak or average day, the real peak hour: you decide what to design for. The same basis applies to every technology.
MTM performance calculation
Process times per workstation from MTM building blocks, for person-to-goods, goods-to-person and forklift cycles. Manual values only with reasoning.
Material flow
Flows drawn on the hall PDF: quantities fixed or linked to analyses, in variants, exportable as PNG and CSV.
Business case & payback
CAPEX, operating costs from staff, area, software, energy and maintenance, and payback against the projected current state. Anything missing from the model is shown as “not in model”, never as zero.
Forecast & scenarios
Linear or exponential trends and manual rates for orders and stock, down to day and hour. Storage sizing and throughput use the target year you choose.
Data filters
One filter pipeline for every analysis, the forecast and storage sizing, for example by channel, period or category.
PDF reports in your branding
Storage sizing, ABC analysis, ABC × XYZ matrix and the planner layouts with your logo and colours.
External upload links
Clients upload data via a secure link, without an account. With expiry date, revocation and an upload log.
How much planning time do you win back?
Set how many warehouse concepts you work out per month and how many hours each takes today. With venn, we calculate 1.5 hours per project.
Calculation: projects per month × (hours today − 1.5 h) × 12. Assumption: with venn, a project takes 1.5 hours on average once the data is available. One FTE = 1,720 working hours per year, one working day = 8 hours.
For everyone who builds warehouse concepts for their clients.
More concepts with the same team
Every client project follows the same method, from current-state assessment to variant comparison. Concepts are faster to build, comparable and easy for clients to follow.
- Combine and compare technologies from the database
- Upload links for client data
- PDF reports in your own branding
Design your technology on client data
Lay out your system on the client's data, with proof of throughput and capacity instead of rules of thumb. The variant comparison shows where your system comes out ahead.
- Your own cost rates, station parameters and MTM time values
- Design throughput and coverage per variant
- 2D layout and 3D view for the concept
Concepts for new clients and sites
New client, tender or site expansion: plan the warehouse on the client's data, calculate the business case against the current state and present a well-founded concept.
- Actual costs as the baseline
- Total cost and payback over the planning horizon
- Many client projects, cleanly separated
